About The Academy of Music & Dance
The Academy of Music & Dance offers over 120 hours per week of dance classes and music lessons
at our convenient location just South of Old Town in Pasadena, California. Our goal as educators at the
Pasadena Academy of Music & Dance is to provide a positive environment, superior technique, and instill confidence in each student.
Goal Statement of Contemporary Pasadena Dance Company
The goal of the Contemporary Pasadena Dance Company:
• Provide superior teaching and choreographic mentorship in the studio, stage, and other performance
arenas by quality personnel with expertise in their areas of teaching.
• Enhance the cultural and aesthetic experience of Pasadena and LA through quality productions, leadership,
and service learning.
• Promote the exploration of other dance communities nationally and internationally through participation in competitions, festivals, and conference attendance.

Apphia Noel
Apphia accepted the prestigious Ford Foundation Scholarship to study at the School of American Ballet, the official school of the New York City Ballet at the age of 12. She lived in Lincoln Center, at Julliard, and was able to study with the world renowned dance masters Suki Shorer, Susan Pilarre, and Antonia Tumkovsky. After two years of study at the School of American Ballet, she accepted a full scholarship with the San Francisco Ballet School and at the age of 15, became an apprentice of the company for three years. She has also danced and choreographed with over 25 local and national dance companies. She is currently the Artistic Director at The Academy of Music & Dance.
